CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE

This recipe is a family favorite that came from one of Momma’s best friends, Betty Lou. From as far back as I can remember, this is the cake I always asked Momma to make – from birthdays, to school parties, or when I needed a little comfort food. I remember many mornings waking up and secretly having a warm slice for breakfast with Momma. It was our “little secret”. I’ve shared this recipe with my girlfriends and it is now a family favorite for them. While it isn’t what you would consider a “homemade” cake recipe, it honestly cannot be beat. The pudding gives it the best texture (I refuse to use the word m-o-i-s-t) in the world!

Ingredients:
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 2 small packages instant chocolate pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 small pkg chocolate chips
Directions:
Mix and stir in chocolate chips. Pour into a greased and floured bundt pan. Cook at 325° for approximately 50-60 minutes (check after 45 minutes).
