Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1 TBSP vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ cups flour sifted
- 1 tsp baking soda, sifted
- ½ tsp salt, sifted
- ½ cup nuts (pecans)
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar with eggs. Mash bananas with vinegar and add to egg mixture. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350 until toothpick comes out clean, approximately 40 minutes.
This recipe came from my great-great grandmother, Mother Crawford. My momma got this recipe from
her grandmother in 1958.
